"shows kits... but says that most of the toxin test strips need a living cell culture to make"(the idea is the cells are held in the strip with some compounds that make them dormant, when the strip is pushed aganst something , the wax breaks and exposes the cells to whatever is being tested, if its a toxin, it harms the cells and the strip changes color, for my character its from blue(scale color) to black)

Oh, that's from the rat saliva of the rat taste testers. The rats that bottle the stuff insist on taking a sloppy gulp out of every drink. You know, for safety! :3
