Do bats like cheese? Well, it turns out that for bats, cheese is about as tasty as it gets! They eat it every day, or so they claim. How can that be? I'll tell you! Bats foraging on cheese I know this sounds weird, but it's the truth. In 2006, a study was conducted to find out if bats were preying on cheese that was produced by dairy cows. They used a cheese-making machine at a dairy company to make cheese, and put it out in the open for cows to eat. Then, when the cheese was taken off the dairy cows, the bats came along to eat it.

Meta the bat went to eat the cheese that the flying cow from São Paulo was carrying. It was a strange sort of cheese, because it was white and round, and smelled very much like milk but was made of sheep's milk. It was in a kind of round plastic bag and was made up of small white particles which were very sticky. It was very very soft and it was very sweet.
