My home country is big. So big, and diverse, it's better to use something that flies to travel around, and you'd still think you're traveling to different countries.
So here I am, in Rio. More than 2,000 km/1,242 miles away from where I was born.
Not gonna lie, it feels exotic. I'm originally from the Northeastern nation of Forró, and this is the Southeastern nation of Samba.
I hear a Chilean artist called Jorge Selarón, who lived in this area, had the original idea of decorating these steps, and started decorating an otherwise badly maintained set of steps with colorful tiles, initially scavenged from various construction sites and piles of urban waste found in Rio streets. Years later, though, most tiles would be donated by visitors from all over the world.

Also, boxes of SKOL beer bottles on the right, casually standing on the corner of a bar. And St. John's suspended, colorful decorations. Now, this is starting to get more familiar, hehe.

I wanted to try a pair of glasses, but I think they don't fit my head super well. Are human heads really that small?

Kinda failed to strike a pose here, but this is a public telephone. We call those "orelhão", which means "big ear", for reasons you might be able to grasp by looking at its shape. Nowadays, they are still used for collect calls/reverse charge calls, but some of them also serve as WiFi spots.
This particular orelhão serves to teleport me to different areas of this neighborhood, though. So advanced :0
