Hmmm, backstories are a bit of a challenge to write mate. I would recommend that you write a backstory covering your characters personality and how past events shaped the character into the way they are right now. Hope it helps!

Esmeray awoke with her head spinning. "where am I?" she asked herself. She looked around the dark graveyard which she'd been in evidently. She looked over to see the body of her fianceé. "No...No...NO!" She yelled as she arose and rushed to her. "Phoebe!!!" she cried, throwing herself on her Jackal lover's body. She began to sob into the shoulder of her fallen lover. When she touched Phoebe's face she fell into a flashback.
The day that Phoebe died was the same as all the others that Esmeray could remember. As Esmeray awoke that day and stared into Phoebe's eyes all else faded away... but Phoebe was crying. Esmeray tried to comfort Phoebe but her hand went through her. Esmeray freaked out and sprang up from the bed... only to realize that she had no reflection in the mirror. She now realized that she was in fact a ghost. Esmeray began to remember that she had been hit by a semi-truck on her walk home that night... but she thought that Phoebe had tucked her into bed... like normal.
Esmeray began to cry, however, her tears were nothing but drops of imagination. Esmeray turned back to see Phoebe sitting on the edge of the bed holding a picture that she had taken of Her and Esmeray on the first date they ever went on. Esmeray floated over and sat next to Phoebe and put her ghostly hand on Phoebe's shoulder... Phoebe's head darted over to her shoulder as she slightly felt the touch. Esmeray tried to talk to Phoebe but nothing Esmeray said was heard.
Phoebe got up and walked to the bathroom and began to brush her white fur. Esmeray sat down on the bathtub and just watched Phoebe get ready as she had done many times before. Phoebe eventually finished and went to the closet and picked out a new black dress, leggings, sweater, and shoes. She put them on and then walked back into the bathroom and pulled out some black makeup and eyeliner. "Oh Phoe," Esmeray said to herself as another tear fell.
