I think the term, 'removed to protective custody' is much more fitting here: after all, in all such instances, innocent prey and creatures were being protected from slobbering, jeering, drooling, and quite possibly rabid predators!!!
Detective Chicken may allow some leniency, were you to join and help the prey, as he is a fair and honest feathered friend : )
