Side note: I've never understood that about British plumbing. "Should we blend the two temperatures into a single tap?" "Nah, let's just go with frostbite on one side and second degree burns on the other."

I don't get it either! I do have a mixer tap in the kitchen, but the bathroom sink and bathtub have "binary" taps.
