On the subject of Batman, I just watched Mask of the Phantasm for the first time, and I loved it. Good balance between Bruce Wayne and Batman scenes, Mark Hamil in top form, the best.
Because Poltergeist is rated PG, I watched it with my parents when I was 7 years old. It was creepy, but I was doing okay until the scene where the kid gets eaten by the tree. I freaked out, and we switched to It's the Easter Beagle Charlie Brown (it wasn't even springtime). I guess the thing that really got me was a portrayal of the parents desperately trying to save their child and not being able to help (I tapped out right when the kid was going in the tree's mouth, only two decades later did I see that it ended with everyone alive). I'm just glad that I didn't have a tree anywhere near my bedroom window. I'm also glad the PG-13 rating was invented!
