Recommend some Sci-Fi!

I just finished Dead Astronauts by Jeff VanderMeer. He's also the author of Annihilation which later became a great sci-fi movie. Not sure how much it would help you? But the writing is very vivid and several of the main characters are animals, and the book also gets pretty deep into issues of ecology / climate change / genetic experimentation. There are a lot of dream-like descriptions of places and things that feel unreal, contradictory, and just generally strange.

United forever in friendship and labour
Gundam Crossbones. It deals with the issues of the Jupiter empire and the matters of its past.

Warhammer 40,000. Filled with Catholic tech priests who fire radium guns while chanting diagnostic hymns in binary, all the while shooting at metallurgic adaptive zombie men firing de-atomizing disintegrator canons while they're repaired by nanite fixing scarabs that utilize anti-gravity tech to move around in a tomb radiating energy.

International Man Of Mystery
If you like comic books then I’d definitely recommend Saga by Brian K. Vaughan. It’s Tumblr as fuck but super good nontheless.
