relationship dynamics of both you and your sona

so random thought, and sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but i was just curious if your own relationship dynamics/experiences line up pretty well with those you make for your sona/characters or if you prefer to take the opportunity change things up a bit when it comes to the fictional.

i never really realized what was happening as i wrote it, but my 'sona edelweiss actually ended up with a very similar relationship dynamic to my own. right now i'm living with two boyfriends- one of whom is ace and i have a purely romantic relationship with, while the other is more of the "standard" boyfriend type. meanwhile, edelweiss is living with her undead beau whom she loves but has a very nonsexual relationship with [for obvious reasons] but is also getting very close to another girl who i will at the very least ship her with if i don't end up actively making them girlfriends. here i thought i was being creative, but actually i'm just over here like "relationship triangles for everyone!"

so, yeah.

do your characters take after you in their love lives or do you let them have something different? and what's the weirdest relationship dynamic you've ever seen or created?

My fursona is only a character in the sense that she has an established design - same for my malesona. Beyond that, they're representations of me, with no life/story of their own outside it. So she has the exact same relationship I do - I draw her doing relationshippy stuff with my husband and boyfriend's fursonas.

My Fursona is basically me. With some additional fictional experiences.

it's a moth! it a dragon! no, it's a avali boi!
one sona is me. the others, different parts of me given form.... it's complicated because I still haven't found a sona that clicks with me yet. maybe this avali might be the one~
however I have found a color pattern that does. ^ -^

Can relate, we're both lonely ass dweebs who cry over emo boys daily.
emo boys are worth crying over.

i suppose if my bfs were in the fandom, i'd pair edelweiss with them too.

i guess i'm sort of the odd duck. instead of just being my sona, i still see her as very much a character and can't not write all these stories about her and her own life. she's not just a face to wear, but an oddly specific self-insert in my own writing i guess. huh.

I'm almost like Yaka on this one. It's just me. Not really any story or anything. Just my character.
Eh. Mine have a rather long backstory.

In terms of views, he's very similar to myself, if not identical. Experiences however he's very different.

One's more closer to the real me while the other's a more idealized version that I wouldn't mind achieving

the one on the profile is pretty much like the real me, plus extra a little calmness and smarts.
my second sona is who I'd like to be
and the last one in simplest terms is my inner flame, the heart.

My "Sona" as it were as I like my human form is basically just a highly superpowered, much more badass version of myself. The relationship dynamics only really come into play with my character being shipped off with my girlfriend's character seeing as we're both roleplaying trash.

I haven't explored the relationship status of mine in much detail yet (I think it will take some RP to do that), I suspect he'll be similar to me in many ways, except more open where I'm married and monogamous.
My wife has a thing for owls (if not quite a full-blown furry thing), so it would be a nice nod to have him in a stable but open relationship with a local owl. Some fun potential for drawings there too.

My 'sona and I are pretty different, and not just because he's the opposite gender of me. The only thing I have in common with Sunburst is our very similar personalities. And, well, I feel like he represents me best in the fandom.

As for relationship wise, we're pretty different in that aspect as well. He's strictly straight, while I am questioning(though leaning towards lesbian, I guess? Unless you compare the fact that we both like girls). I've never been in a real relationship while he fell in love with two different girls. One of which sadly died, the second whom he stays with permanantly. So ye, our relationship dynamics are drastically different.

I listen to increasingly weird music and the more I listen, the more I realize my 'sona' is such abstract feels that what am I even SAYING that "I feel like a fennec?" humans are incapable of imagining what an animal feels like in their skin so what is furry even? I think it's more synesthetic, it has like a texture and emotions attached to it?

Le Chat Necro - thanks for liking, nobody examines the question, 'what am I even saying when I say 'i feel like a furry'' at all

Edit: I implied once, I think YOU appreciate the border between fantasy and reality and wild speculation, but I said maybe a lot of furry stems from synesthesia. That one guy who thinks he's a hyena who tastes like lime :p

It's a hard thing to put your finger on, but I think there's something I get in that.
Also, share some of your favourite weird music in the "what are you listening to" threads!

I can totally agree with you on that. I feel like I should make my sona his own self, like a rounded character and not just a face for myself in furry spaces. I want to know more about him, like his backstory and hopes and dreams and such. It doesn't help that I love archetypes and psychology and making OCs lol

same.
like, you definitely shouldn't feel like you have to do anything. if you just want a cool character to masquerade as online, awesome. do that. but if it makes you happy to have them be a separate character with their own junk going on, do that instead. whatever floats your boat.

though some 'sonas clearly have weird things about them that i feel do warrant their own stories. like someone who gives their sona a mechanical arm or magic powers. there has to be a story behind that other than "it me".

np. i try to like everyone's comments. we all have valid and meaningful points of view.
i don't have synesthesia, but i do have a couple of friends who do and it's an interesting thing definitely. our minds are strange and complex things.
though, tbh, half the time i think you sound like you're tripping on something strong, dude. ;P

My sona is basically me. We’re both photographers, have a fascination with art, bisexual, pretentious, confident, level headed, rational, love to explore, and cinephiles. The only difference that I can think of is that he lives in the city, while I live in the boring subarbs.
