Now if anyone has been following the news lately, Russia and Georgia are having some issues over Georgia's independence (In one of the southern proveniences) . Russian tanks and troops have rolled into southern Georgia and apparently two Russian military aircraft where shot down over Georgia. And no, not Georgia USA, Georgia east Europe.

Please, please, please, please, please ... ask me about this conflict. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, YOUR GETTING ALL THE CURRENT HISTORY OVER THE PAST SIX MONTHS ...

... this has been in the planning stages for about 2 years before the first Chechen Civil War, and it all started with a Russian GRU Agent named Shamil Basayev.

...ask me if your confused.

I'm a bit confused over what exactly has happened there.

Georgia did start the war, Russia is just defending republic of South Ossetia that's being invaded by Georgia.

"Georgia begins war to retake South Ossetia"

I don't see how Georgia can expect to win with conventional military tactics, unless they are relying on support from another nation/group.

Georgia hit first. They invaded South Ossetia. Russia is just coming to the aid of allies.

But South Ossetia hasn't been recognized by any member of the United Nations, and, well, kinda hard to be a country then.

Since when does one have to have a country to have allies?

It's kinda hard to invade you're own country too. South Ossetia is not a country. It's a breakaway province, it acts like it is it's own country, but in fact they aren't. And I didn't say that they didn't need to be a country to have Allies, Russia was a peacekeeping force in South Ossetia, but now when the Georgians try to bring the region under control, they get caught in the crossfire and take a stance. That's at least how I've interpreted how Russia is involved here.

Are you really that naive? Please tell me you aren't. Georgia was attempting to bring THEIR region of THEIR country back under control. Russia is attempting to DRAG South Ossetia back to the old Iron Curtain. Is that not TERRIBLE EVIDENT to you?

I dont see how Georgia could win without NATO support...
Conventionally, or unconventionally (Russia learned from hard lessons in Chechnya, but knows better now).

Please click on the relevant links herein; he was one of the key players who would eventually decide that Abkhazia and Ossetia would seperate to begin with (also supported by the Russian's at the time).

I wish I knew more on this..

It's kinda confusing and news reports don't seem very clear on things, from the bits I got to see at work. A lot of it is just leader responses..

I guess I need to go read up on some history.

Classy fella, I'm glad he's been capped off. One less radical to deal with, but now we have to deal with the machinations he's moved forward. Hopefully someone will step in and tell Russia to fuck off. I just can't think of anyone besides the US who has the balls to do it.

THIS IS PROBRABLY THE BEGINING OF WW3!
and yet russia is the problem here hey USA why dont u nuke russia?
and and ohh...i better start to learn how to exicute and man like in manhunt2 and think my own exicutions but they are so ugly and paintful!
