Lol, tried to go on the site today to check if anyone sent me a private message. Turns out my school checked the site, and blocked it. When I looked under the reasons why, it said that it was a pornographic site. >< I mean, I know there can be pictures some people draw that are revealing or could be considered hentai, but still for them to go and block it like that. My school didn't ban anything when I was in highschool, unless it was blatently a porn sigh (Whitehouse.com, etc)

They never once blocked VCL, even though a small group of us visited it religiously

If there's any /actual/ problem arising from this, I'm more than happy to clarify to them the actual nature of the site/community and that you were apparently not viewing any mature/adult artwork. They could verify that from their system logs, of course.

In all honesty, checking your FA in a public place could lead to some bad stereotyping should someone get curious about it and start the rumors. There's enough slander on the internet about furries, and I've experienced first hand what "Oh my god he's looking at animal art! He's a stupid furry!" can do.

Yes, every random passer-by will know what a Furry is and it's sterotype. Out of all the I.T., MM, the MySpacers and all of the Net-users (Bloggers, Gamers, Pirates and whatnot) at my school, 4, FOUR know what a 'Furry' is (or have a clue).
Stop being so freakin' paranoid :roll: All of yous, I viewed FA last year and I only got a few "What's with the animal dudes?" which should be easy to reply to (without being a total arse).
We have 30+ Wapanese and to my knowlage, one furry (me). I could run around in some futsuit yelling that I'm one and they'd still wouldn't give a flying shit.

Totally didn't know what a furry was until about a year and a half ago, myself. I guess it's pretty neat that everyone here is allowed to look at non-educational stuff on the internet at school. My former high school, you got detention for going pretty much anywhere. I was pretty good friends with the librarian, though, so I was pretty safe.

FA is not school-friendly. Ever. FA is not work-friendly. Ever. It's not library friendly either. Then again, I don't really think much of any furry artwork is "Safe For Work". I mean, if your boss comes up to your desk and sees a furry cat woman holding an ice cream cone, is it going to be any more or less weird if she's naked?

You gotta be careful where you let your furry loose. School, work, unassuming friend's house; not very good places, especially when there's a chance of anything yiffy. yiff is sex and as far as administration is concerned it's gonna get blocked always. But luckily for me my school has only blocked the main VCL page and not FA or any of the mirror VCL sites. You gotta learn how to get around the barriers sometimes. I know a trick for yiffstar which has nothing to do with googling it and entering via the "cached page" link. >.=.>;

But seriously, if in doubt don't do it. It's always better to not do it and be able to do it later than to do it now and find it blocked when you need it.

well, im yet to meet anyone in person who understands the whole furry thing. I eveb had to slightly educate my girlfriend about everything... she know what furry was, but i introduced her to the word "yiff" and everything it entails, now she's straight-up addicted to that shit (she loves sex art)

I guess this puts me in the position to be the official furry evangalist of TCNJ, lol.

as for the general FA site, im not surprized they blocked it at your school.  The forum on the othet hand, im yet to see any reason why it should be.

They also block Furtopia's forums as being adult, when those are kept clean(except 3 forums that need a login to view it), but allow me into the artists sites.
