Snake reference sheets?

To be honest, reference sheets are supposed to show as clear as possible the color and shapes of a character, so there's nothing wrong in drawing a snake in a straight line, it surely would make the character look and markings super clear. You can draw 3 straight line views of your snake character for his back, belly and side view in order to show the palette and markings, then you can add a more dynamic pose so you can also give your character some personality (remember to show the tongue and mouth colors)
