Main Site Suggestions

A recommended tab similar to DeviantArt that has art and stories based on your favorites.
When you click on a submission it shows you a few other things similar to it at the bottom.
A filter option that allows you to hide submissions you've scrolled over or clicked on before.
A way of sorting favorites into different folders.
A way of blocking fetishes or kinks you don't want to see like zoophilia, beastiality, etc.
Maybe a way to change your username because it kind of sucks to be stuck with one permanently
(I will update as a get more ideas)

All of these things except for that reddit-style filtering are on our radar. I'll bring that one up.

Like Ryan, I'm also interested if there's an ETA. Granted, work is work and sometimes things won't go as planned but having a general idea of when is better than getting the same answer that's been given prior. Not that we don't appreciate the effort just...some of these things have been asked for and announced as "on the radar" as far back as 2012 if I remember the original suggestion thread correctly. o_O

No ETAs. We have a very small development team and with some of the things happening lately (see recent Fender journal) our resources have gone to preventative infrastructural changes. I wish we had an ETA because I'm eager for them, too. lol.

"But Luffy, that's always been the excuse!"

Well, yeah. That's how it goes.

One problem cleared up and another one to take its place, taking away freeform development time.

Sorry I don't have a better answer!

Hey man it's the best you can provide, sorry if I sounded pushy. It's just excitement, I swear. :p

What about the possibility of just temporarily closing down the site for a week (with an announcement a month prior for members to prep) so the team can focus on clean up and catch up? Or would that not be feasible for this sort of platform...? It seems like FA can't catch a break sometimes, and it could really use one. </3

It's a good idea, but there are a few problems with it:
1. Our primary source of revenue for FA is ads (community mostly, but also third-party). With the site offline, no ads.
2. Retention of members wavers with shut-downs.
3. The dev team wouldn't be affected by this as the only thing that this would resolve is current ticket influx.
4. Users who rely on commissions to earn a living, especially in Russia/Ukraine right now, would be heavily affected.

1. Would 7 days of dip prevent FA from being able to run? If so, maybe setting up a donation pool to speed up things.
2. This is kind of inevitable, but chances are more members will leave so long as FA continues to battle with it's one step forward three steps back pattern.
3. Break means also a break on tickets; I don't see the harm in waiting a week on that - especially not if the members knew well in advance there'd be a pause for maintenance.
4. That would be why it'd be announced so early on. Though the fear is definitely understandable...they could potentially still use the forum though right...?

Scrapping the above idea, does FA have a daily (or even a weekly) downtime for staffer catch-up purposes? D:
Maybe that'd be better than a week-long shut down (and more feasible for everyone).
Similar to in some game servers (particularly with MMO's)?

The bottom line is that I think we would lose more than we would gain, regardless of downtime length. We just promoted a bunch of new moderators and tickets are looking great. The effect it would have on FA and its community is probably not worth. @Dragoneer may be able to provide more insight.
