Tell me the blunt honest truth about my art!

I am so fed up with people when I ask for constructive critique and I only get COMPLEMENTS. That only makes me feel like I'm not up to par with my artwork and just on the amateur level.

I want to be pushed. I want to be roasted. I want to be told, "YOUR ART SUCKS" and then I will draw the best thing that is something I can actually be proud of.

PLEASE JUST BE HONEST TO ME WITH MY ART.

Fair enough. Your work is better than I can do. It is not a style that I would look for or buy.

Unfortunately, my drawing skills are so lacking that I cannot give you any educated constructive advice or criticism. You obviously believe that you need more practice, so practice.

From one artist to another, I understand the feeling of wanting not only complements but actual criticism and since you want honesty.... You need to practice alot more on your anatomy and coloring. As the anatomy is weird and the colors are too dull as it just looks like it's fading off the paper IMO.

I could've saied that but ... My art is so much cringe that i dont feel in the right to critizise you

Just a heads up, it'd be best for a thread like this to embed or link to a few of what you consider to be your best pieces.

You've got a pretty good start, that being said you'd really benefit from a study of anatomy and lighting/shading.

It's pretty good art honestly, certainly not terrible and plenty of room for new and even cooler things.
But yeah, this is just going to be my two cents which you can take or leave and people above me probably mentioned things I'll say already but I'm too lazy right now to read through everything, lol.
Anyways,here it goes.
I feel like on some art you tend to take more time and that stuff is what tends to come out crisper, more refined and it stands out compared to other drawings you have in your gallery, trust me this happens with me too and even I notice it and it's just like what greater power possessed me so to do this? Lol.
But yeah, stay away from any blurry brushes namely the spray paint brush or anything that's not say a pencil, marker or pen brush otherwise its very hard on the eyes and often turns into one blob..I know the allure of those soft fluffy brushes, but after time and time again of being 'yelled' at by others online I've gotten away from those finally unless it's something specific in the background.
Proportions,I know they're hard I'm still working on mine and I'm 26 years old..I'd say check for some tutorials or even check out the website Dragoart it's got a mix of cartoony/anime/realistic tutorials to choose from.
Markers,crayons,etc..If you need to use them try and blend as best as you can and don't switch directions because it's obvious I've also been 'yelled' at for that too...Fun fact, you can actually put the watercolor pencils you can get in any old store in water and paint with them.
Doodling is always good it's practice, but unless it's a really nice, clean doodle I wouldn't suggest putting it in your gallery.
If you're going to use pencil, try something new like taking a nice good pen and adding in darker penned parts where you see fit but make it an even mix of both.
Check out a few tutorials on realistic hair,I wouldn't really suggest using realistic hair on cartoony/anime characters unless you really pull it off though with the two art styles which it's possible but yeah, something to work on.
I wouldn't suggest 'line-less' pictures until you refined other stuff, otherwise doing those sorts of pictures can get your proportions really off and it's just really frustrating at times to get everything just right.
Female/Male anatomy, yours certainly isn't bad but it needs a bit of touching up I'm seeing a few strange boobs and such lol.
Try to keep your art more centered and if it doesn't have a background try and play things off properly maybe even add some sort of shadowing so it doesn't look like the character is floating there unless that's what you want, lol.
I mean basically you just need to refine some skills and learn some new ones,I've seen some of your pencil drawings towards the end of your gallery and they're honestly pretty dang good no lie there.
Just remember when it comes to art to take your time,no matter how long that marker takes to color in stuff,no matter how many hairs you need to draw and so on it's the finished piece that matters and you can take as long as you want to make sure it comes out nice and clean.
Never rush yourself because then in the end you start doubting yourself and your skills.
You've got a lot of potential, and never take anyone's compliments as a bad thing it's good to know people appreciate your art and sometimes people just don't know how to give critique or they're not artistically inclined they just know by what they see.
But yeah, that's all I can think of I hope it was of some help to ya.

Thank you all.

The irony is that the majority of my work is traditional and I've just started to do digital work with this paint app on my smartphone. I only have coloring pencils right now. I used to do realism and other forms of art but...eh.

Ivory-Brier

Has way too many characters
The eyes seem a bit too large and far apart, and the generous amount of rainbows does get irritating, the noses always seem too small and off center, and it jut gives off that vibe of "look! It anime!"

Other than tht, the character desighns are GLORIOUS and you skill with colored pencils is jealousy inducing

I'm sorry if I was mean, I really do like your art!

Yeah the whole "Rainbow" thing was not only part of DKitty and Lady Suisho but part of my identity so I did fanart with humans and various doodles.

There is a saying when someone asks you how strong you are and you reply "Stronger than some; weaker than many." I like that saying because it could apply to both an ambitious amateur and a humble master and provides a good attitude that will keep you grounded at any stage.

I could say "Your art sucks" as you requested, but I'm sorry that is not my style.

Are you sketching the body and composition as simple shapes first and then going back over the shapes and adding in the details (like this)?
Because if you're instead just drawing one line at a time, only ever branching off from the previous line, that would explain why the proportions are sometimes off and why the characters seem stiff.

Just keep practicing. There is no shortcut with drawing. I took decades off from drawing and that's why my skill level is pretty much still where it was when I was in high school.

On the bright side, you do have a good sense of proportion, anatomy, and foreshortening, and you can only build on that, so in essence you're more than halfway there. (where? who knows)

Fluffy as a shaggy carpet
you said to be blunt so; i would suggest staying away from the anime style.

This.

And it's not out of hatred for anime. But anime itself is a super-stylisation of reality. So if you base yourself off of it to get your basics down you will only end up stylising and simplifying a stylisation. You will add your own mistakes on top of other people's mistakes and it will ALWAYS look like a weird sub-par version of Sailor Moon or something else.

Work off of real-life from times to times. interpret reality. Get your basics from real stuff and THEN progress from there and stylize that reality.

It will only help your own personal style flourish in the end.

Right now your character illustrations are extremely stiff and weirdly proportioned. Your lineart shows a lot of hesitation as well (so I would recommend drawing circles A LOT , that helps too).

I mean you're not hopeless or anything. But you DEFINITELY have a long way to go.
