The Borg vs. Cylons

Riyeko

Hai Thar.
Okay so my husband has been on a Star Trek splurge, and ive been watching Battlestar Galactica on netflix.
We both love Star Trek, Star Wars, and BSG.
But, something came to me the other day during one of the episodes with lots of borg in it.

Who do you think would win?

Borg?
Or
Cylons?

I mean, the Cylons use networked systems to their advantage, so the Borg is screwed there...
Borg have significantly more firepower than the Cylons...
But they both kind of have numbers on their side as an advantage...

Who would win?

Good question...but what are Cylons?

EDIT: okay, read what they are.
You know what's better than the two? Reapers. :V

Borgs adapt to situations. A few shots and they would have new calibrated shields against Cylon weapons. Also, they can assimilate anything they come in contact with. The Cylons cant keep up with such fast changes.

The Cyclons Achilles heel is that without the resurrection ships they can't be brought back, and if the borg assimilated the cyclon resurrection ship all the cyclons would automatically be assimilated.

Borg would kick Cylons' ass.

The Daleks will assuredly be the victors.

Their cries of "Exterminate!" will be your undoing.
All it'd take is stairs to defeat them though.

I refuse to believe Daleks can move that fast or levitate, cause back in the day they were freaking scary. Cause no matter how fast you ran or where you went death would be on your trail and it'd be only a matter of time until they got you.

Honestly i have no idea what the fascination is about the Dalleks.
Seriously, theyre octagon shaped robots.

Hell C3PO would probably beat the crap out of them..

No put a couple of Alien's from "Alien" and both of them would be gone.

Good god Dragonfurry! Can you imagine if the borg tried to assimilate Ripley's Alien?! Blasphemy! Awesomely terrifying blasphemy!

Well, not actualy a winner, but ill go with Camera mans. Every movie I saw has them. They never die, you can never see them, they can view everithing, everywhere. They can move in time and space. They never get tired, hungry or thirsty. They are the ultimate lifeforms!

I don't know much about Cylons because I hate BSG, but the Borg have firepower and adaptability, like, one Borg cube could easily take on a dozen starfleet ships by itself (at least in it's first appearance) and individual Borg have shield generators built into their bodies. From what I've seen of Cylons all they have are robits and weak-terminators things. And using terminators to blend in with the Borg is pointless because they'd realize they aren't part of the hivemind and just assimilate their ass.

I vote Reapers to beat both though, unless Shepard teams up with either they don't stand a fucking chance.

Psh! What is this?! We have Borgs, Daleks, Terminators, Reapers ( <3 Firefly) in this thread but were the hell are Cybermen?!?

Borg Vs. Cybemen

I vote the Doctor anyway.

Alas, the Borg would win. Overall, their tech is much better than Cylon tech, and once they assimilate resurrection technology, it's all over.

I say alas, because I loved the Cylons from the new BSG for one reason: they were all fucked in the head! Crazy killer robots who resurrect = <3

Unfortunately, the weapons on BSG are very 21st century. I get why they did that: nukes are real, and nukes are scary. But a nuke would be trivial to shoot out of the sky for anyone with ST-TNG era technology. Incoming nuke? Phaser it. Threat nullified.

The Borg, because you forgot that they can adapt. Not to mention assimilate. Not to mention they have a far more advanced tech. Points which others have already mentioned.

Takin it slow.
So long as we`re throwing scifi robots out there...

Species 8472 :V So adaptive they needed Janeway and Co. to tell them how to not get horribly brutalized by them over and over and over again. There's also one episode, I believe, wherein a holodeck solid-slug firearm kills a bunch. Oh, and melee weapons continue to work, so the adaptation is not perfect.

Overall, though, Borg should win (unless my Cylon-related memory is wrong) in the least due to numbers. If we bring in Daleks like some people have suggested, then this obviously swings in their favor.

Win against Borg and Cylons, lose to Daleks. Daleks are pan-galactic, before taking into account that a single Dalek trooper's considered a viable threat to modern earth in its entirety (somehow).
