After the 2020, this familiar Christmas decoration will never look the same again...

Nah, I don't have a hard time picking gifts for my family. I have no money to buy anything for myself, let alone my family. I haven't received a Christmas gift since I was 13.
Same here. Gifts are considered something for kids, and then, usually something small/symbolic. But then again, I'm happy that I get to skip all the annoying consumerism and shopping frenzy.

So I had my bf's present shipped to my mom's since we were gonna be there for xmas(since the box would be something he'd recognize and he usually gets the mail). Then my sister gets the spiky boi of sickness from her coworker and my grandpa also hasn't been feeling well, so xmas at my mom's is now out of the question. He'll get his present eventually and I hope everyone feels better ;-;

This pandemic is something especially horrid.

Difficulty shopping? Actually, I'm still relatively lucky in that my family still has some things they desired. EXCEPT that I have to shop for 3 birthdays this time of year as well. (Mine is in fact the ONLY birthday that isn't in the winter months.)

I have to concur that when you can actually get things yourself and EVERY member of the family has at least a Prime account (I was the last one - they keep telling me "use theirs, use theirs" but unfortunately I require even the illusion of independence), Christmas gift-giving loses its luster entirely. So it's going to have to be a lot of board games and Euchre.

I'm getting to the point where I'm going to have to wear ear protection to EVERY SINGLE STORE next year. Christmas music is just so grating, especially if it's not either Muppets (yeah, that Christmas CD is practically a THANKSGIVING tradition in my house) or Jewel. (And DEFINITELY don't put on Chipmunks Christmas stuff with me or I might ACTUALLY fully lose it!) I'm lucky my office doesn't blast it.

I do think people are utterly nuts to wait until the last week to do their Christmas shopping (well, I HOPE that's what was going on today given the only other possibility I saw on that trip are the food and drink places in front of the closest Home Depot).

Today was the first day of COVID-19 at our Walmart.so, yeah, waiting until last minute and packing the stores is kinda nuts right now

I don't actually celebrate Christmas, either as a religious holiday or just in general. Don't decorate for it, don't really have interest in gift exchanges, though I won't turn down the food. There's some amazing food at gatherings this time of year.
Honestly, I do like some of the seasonal music, even what's more geared toward the spiritual side of things. Even if I don't believe in the actual message, it's good music and I prefer it to the more secular stuff.
My family did celebrate Christmas growing up, and I have fond memories of those days, but feel no reason to participate in it now.
