Where did this originate from? I demand to know the first time a furry went "OwO, what's this?"!!!

I think the exact origin is unclear, as some Furries have been using the emoticon and similar phrases on FA and DeviantArt for some time. It only gained widespread use after people made parodies of Furries like this:

The origins are unclear but the "OwO what's this" has been dated back far as the creation of the universe and passed on through tradition of the human race degenerates

I think it's mainly just from furry roleplayers.
I remember back when I was on DA in 2013, plus on a Sonic wiki, I saw a LOT of people who roleplayed writing faces like "owo", plus always writing "[blank] nuzzles his chest fur >w>" and stuff.
So I'm guessing it came form people starting to mock that.
