Discord offers a lot of options to stop troll attacks and raids. Admins can also use bots to help with that. It's kind of a long topic to talk about but it's probably safer than a forum from my experience.

Our security architecture on Discord is pretty neat. Lot of stuff I didn't know existed.

Personally speaking, I'm thankful to FAF. I met a lot of good friends that I'll keep in touch with, and experienced a lot of top-tier chef-kiss levels of trolling that really you could only have nightmares about. My block list became longer than my stockings, and yet still the members remained fresh with creative minds and beautiful wordsmiths. Staff and members had their moments, I know I certainly did, but we all just found some time every week to get together and talk amongst each other about the community that for whatever reason accepted us...and I think that's pretty fucking rad. So I bid you farewell FAF.

You served the community for a long time. It'll be tough seeing you go, but I'm sure someone will provide an alternative to pick up your legend where you left off.
In the meantime, we'll just have to deal with the discord without you.

- @ConorHyena: Probably the only yeen that could drive a tank over you while wearing a gag and still manage to look cute.

It hasn't even been a month for me yet. Sucks that the first community I joined is closing so soon after. I created this account to see if I had a place in the furry fandom, and I really enjoyed it here despite not posting much. I don't plan on immediately joining the discord so that I can finish creating a fursona and figure out how I want to present myself online. I'll see you guys there in probably a few years.

The big thing I was concerned about is that anyone on that sever could be individually targeted by troll-made bots.

Crushed. Deeply. FAF was extremely important to me because it seems like the only place I’ve been able to reach out to other furries and actually get a response. I’m not inclined to join the Discord unless I know it isn’t going to be chaotically busy, but even then I fear getting drowned out for that very reason. The forums have kind of been my home since I showed up.

It’s going to be hard moving past, that’s for sure.
