Thoughts on Yiff

A topic that brought up from time to time is yiff. Yiff is something that is a larger part of the fandom than most people would like to admit. It's a bit of a taboo topic although many people here posses yiff art either it is of their own character or just some art they found that is to their liking.
I don't really understand the big fuss around yiff, I actually think Yiff and hentai is much better than possessing images of real life porn with real life people. I know that it's controversial since when furies are mentioned out side of the furry community the first thing that pops into peoples minds are that furies are obsessed with sexual art of anthropomorphic animals and it's too easily confused with bestiality.

I think that it is a topic that should be brought more into the spotlight, the less people hide it the less taboo it will be. If you make it a big deal it becomes a big deal, if you hide that you like yiff people will assume that it is something to be ashamed of. Yiff is not worse than things like BDSM. BDSM can actually harm people but it is more accepted than Yiff. Yiff is just another fetish usually in the form of art and it does not harm and it shouldn't be a fetish to be ashamed of. The anime fandom just like the furry fandom have both sexual and non sexual aspects however, every aspect of the anime fandom seems to be respected, and I want every aspect of the furry fandom to be respected as well.
So what are your thoughts?

Personally, I have no problem with yiff! Yiff is rather interesting because of how diverse it can be when it comes to artistic expression and characters/species choices.
I can see why people would confuse it with bestiality, though, considering it is basically a bunch of furries fucking. but it really isn't that!

To me, yiff is definitely liked among the furry community, and I don't see it really as much as a sexual obsession and more of just a common interest among the fandom. At least with the mature parts of it, of course! I do find it interesting how people are quick to judge or form major controversy around it, though.

I think that one of the reasons people criticize the furry fandom so much is because how some like to criticize other fandoms for the porn while furries themselves consume so much of it.
People should just embrace that side of the fandom, they don't have to consume it but they shouldn't deny it's impact either.

I have no interest in Yiff or Vore..or like..any sort of sexual interest at all when it comes to the furry fandom.

For ME personally, I don't care for it for two reasons. One is my extremely - almost unnaturally strong attraction to (human) men, and second is that..idk..I guess since it's almost like a cartoon/animated kinda thing, I can't seem to really feel anything towards that.

exactly. People should not always say "not all furies are like that". although its true it is much better to say things like "not every aspect of the fandom is sexual but its definitely a part of the fandom, like hentai is a part of the anime fandom" I think people will better understand it if you put it that way.

Forums made for yiff RP is definitely toxic and lets not forget scary. I don't like those pages like F-list is not a pleasant place to hang around. However, yiff art is creative and some of it is even aesthetically pleasant to look at. Things get easily toxic when absolutely everything is about sex.

I don't tend to look for any kind of sexual content concerning the furry fandom, mostly because I'm still relatively new to the whole thing. But, from what I have seen of it, most yiff art really isn't that different from boring ol' human pornographic content. I can see why people might look at it as bestiality- pornographic content concerning feral characters can come off that way, to some extent.

But, for the most part, it's not that bad! I don't know why people would get so worked up about it.
