Fur Affinity Forums

Recently, I've been getting a lot of 403 errors in my browser when it's trying to load thumbnails / full images every time I open the site via Tor (yes I'm using Tor because of where I live IRL).

Mind you, the actual web site itself loads fine (text-only), only that all images show up as blank boxes and the network tab lists 403 for any image it tried to load. Clicking on the response preview for these images gives something like this:
> t.furaffinity.net
>
> Checking if the site connection is secure
>
> Enable JavaScript and cookies to continue
> t.furaffinity.net needs to review the security of your connection before proceeding.

> Performance & security by Cloudflare

Mind you, having javascript on/off doesn't change anything here, since these are the request for the images, and not the website itself (which once again: loads just fine)
> GET https://www.furaffinity.net/msg/submissions/new@48/ --> 200

Additionally, if I try to open one of the thumbnail/image URLs directly in a separate tab, they (usually) load fine, and if I then wait for a couple of minutes, thumbnails/images start loading in my other tabs, too. However, once having waited for a while after that (or after telling Tor to connect via a different route), the whole play starts all over. -- As a result, I usually have to sit there and keep on connecting via new routes until I finally end up with one that manages to appease Cloudflare.

Since this only started happening recently, I'm guessing someone changed some config option to make cloudflare more aggressive than it needs, and it'd be nice if that could be reverted. If not, I guess I'll just have to learn and live with this new restriction.

Anyways: thanks for taking the time to read this
