Fur Affinity Forums

Hi all. I’m not sure if this is the right thread to post in. There was a transformation story I read in the past that I would like to revisit, but like the idiot I am I did not fav or bookmark it. I want to find it again and wonder if any of you guys would be able to help me out. I had a difficult time browsing/searching for it. It’s a sci-fi story and I sort of remember the prose:

A woman was sent by some man (I think her father, I forgot for what reason) to a colony of alien anthro canines on a spaceship from another world who are en-route to return to their homeland. While onboard she learns their language and culture and starts settling in. On their way through space they explain to her that since they are returning home, her body will be susceptible to all kinds of conditions and diseases in their environment that only they understand how to prevent/cure for their species’ biology, and they have no clue how those would affect a human’s biology, let alone how to treat them. Therefore in order for her to survive their alien environment she must become one of them, for which they have the technology/science to do so. She has little choice but to reluctantly agree. After receiving her transformation shot, she slowly transforms into the same alien anthro canine species over the course of a few weeks or a month while continuing to study their culture and language. No identity death, no genderbending, no sexual instincts, no nonsense. Time passes and she continues doing routine tasks as she deals with and adapts to her new form. I think there were also other ex-humans on board. Some were more accepting or even happy about the changes than others. Don’t remember if there’s more after that.

Hope that’s enough information and specific enough to find. If you know this story please let me know the title and author/artist. Thanks!

~Kari
