Connection Issues: Unable to connect/display FA main-site

FA ACCOUNT NAME:VoidBat http://www.furaffinity.net/user/voidbat
USERS INVOLVED: Only me so far… what I know of!
LINKS/REFERENCE: Signs began to appear the 8th October with slow loading and connection time, today the 9th October it got worse with ridiculous poor performance and “disappearing” ads that finally boiled down into a white-screen.
The FA-site is “found” when entering the address in the IE search bar, but it doesn’t get displayed, instead a white-screen appears and the browser endlessly chews on without no effect what so ever. NOTE, this only happens on FA, no other sites are affected by this.
… After 30-40 minutes the main-site www.furaffinity.net now showed up but keeps grinding on at:
http://www.furaffinity.net/CSS/OctBannerXXX.jpg If an attempt at browsing/clicking around the site is made the browser will instantly freeze and begins it’s endless circle of white screens and pointless chewing.

STEPS YOU TOOK: Cookie-removal with the works, switching browser, re-starting modem and router, router config check, Ping/Traceroute (0 packages were dropped) & AV/router firewall was checked for any signs of blocking FA.
Any help will certainly be appreciated, as well as a solution for this issue. If wanted, more "in-detail" information can be posted, thx for yer time!

You're not alone. This is driving me up the wall...

Does anybody know when this will be fixed?

Problems like these, with no error messages whatsoever, are a pain to figure out.

For starters, try copy/pasting an IP trace for www.furaffinity.net .

Windows systems, simply type "tracert www.furaffinity.net >foo.txt" into the command prompt; that will trace the IP route between your computer and FA, and the > will log the results to a text file (instead of onscreen) so you can copy-paste it easily.

Load time increases drastically from hop 5-14 before it supposedly "drops/times out" the packet.
I've checked with Telia (my isp) and no unusual events have accured according to them, so at least that's ruled out.

* indicates a timeout. In your case this was on hop #10, which is approximately halfway between your computer and FA's.

Unfortunately, "halfway" is like 90% of the journey from website to computer.

Having the same trouble here. Will hit a page, and it'll load pieces, such as the top bar and left side, but will take time to load everything else. I ended up getting "No Script" for Firefox recently, and coming to the FA site today with it on, there was no extended loading time. If I tell it to allow FA, then I go back to waiting a good half a minute for pages to load properly.

Not knowing the technical, I'll just say that it doesn't let the adds load, along possibly a few other things. I know that I can't mouse over titles of works and get the thumbnail pictures, or the poster's comments on works on the main page. Pages also show as still loading for some seconds after loading, with No Script on. Hope this info helps narrow things down.

The popup thumbnails and such are Javascript powered, ergo, the NoScript plugin disables them.

I've been having this same issue with FA for quite awhile, and this is the first time I've visited the forums about it. Still, it seems like it's a big mystery. Still, I'll add my input just to see if anyone else can make heads or tails of it.

I did the traceroute and this is what I got:

You clearly have problems with your local network.

You request goes to your local router (hop1), then to the outside world (hop2 and hop3) , then back to what it seems to be a local network again (hop4), then back to the outside world (hop5). This is not normal.

I do not know why this happens to you.
