Main Site Update into a Full User Block

Hey guys, I'm kinda bored with the odl user block thing on Fur Affinity, but I wanted to see a full user block on Fur Affinity

What does the normal user block do: Unable to comment, note, fave, and follow the account.
But, what really makes the full user block do: Same thing for the normal user block, but unable to see the account's artworks or page.

I rename the topic title because using two options is not going to work.

Have been asking for this for years, also blocks are for IP so people making multiple accounts can't harass you as easily.

Not sure how the IP one will help. VPN's get right around those.

not sure if i have all the complaints people through around down, but would not seeing their stuff prevent someone from finding stolen artwork if the artist themselves has to report it?

I'm assuming the account's Block List will be updating with a drop down menu when you can choose between Default or Full.

The block feature, needs to act the way facebooks does and make you completely non-existent to that person. Even with updates, it is still way too easy for blocked people to harass and do damage. Then again, knowing the rate at which things are updated, and that feedback is rarely ever actually taken into consideration, I dont think it'll happen.

It's usually an "all or nothing" thing with blocking on most platforms..... but on FA it's a bit weird in that regard (and has perplexed me ever since I became a member here) where our content is still viewable by other users we wish to not interact with. And worse still, those users can still remain on our "watch lists" if they choose to watch us - and there's almost nothing I can do about it.

To me, the block feature on FA is a bit of a "half measure" in that regard, where it probably doesn't go as far as it should when it's used.

But I find that on many other platforms besides FA, it is a full-on block which includes everything.

But in regards to having different block function types - unfortunately many platforms (including this one) don't offer those types of features because (in my mind) it would probably be too much work for them on the Admin side to offer up two tiers of blocking.

To me, I think the block feature should just cover *everything*..... which includes not only communications and comments but also - whatever stuff I post on my account. And I would love it if FA eventually went all the way in that regard and made the block function a complete one.

@PloucTheDragon I'm a bit puzzled though, as to why anyone would still want the "normal user block" as you label it, if one can have the full block which would cover everything.

Care to divulge why the "normal user block" would still be wanted if you could have the full one?

First of all, users can log out to see the page and artwork. It's the same issue as in Twitter.
Plus, other users can show the direct image link to the blocked user which entirely bypasses the page.

Exactly, which is why I don't think full block will work if you have to report a content uploaded by the user who has fully blocked you.
