Main Site Upload policy - question about reminders

Hello there! :)

Just wanted to be sure I understand the upload policy correctly, because it's quiet not clear for me.

It says:

2.1 - Reminders, Advertisements, and Promotions
Users may post reminder submissions to accounts they own with the following requirements: The rating must match the highest rated content being promoted. Users may post up to 3 reminder submissions every 8 hours. Only one reminder per original sale is permitted in this time frame.

Reminders, advertisements, and promotions must still comply with all other policies, such as Section 2.9 - Duplicate Content, where the image in the reminder cannot be identical to another image on your account.

Reposting submissions in an attempt to circumvent these limitations is not permitted. Attempts to bypass this policy or its limitations is prohibited.

2.2 Selling
Goods being sold through submissions may only be user-created or handcrafted items. The submission rating must reflect the final product. Sale posts cannot be removed and reposted more than once every 8 hours.

So if I understand correctly - I can upload up to 3 different reminders per 8 hours, but these reminders can't be duplicate images of other images in the gallery. But if these are reminders of the existing auctions, then the reminders must look the same as the image on the auction. Does it mean I have to put a text "reminder" on the image? I can't alter it to look different than the image on the auction, because that would be misleading.

I am just a dog on the internet (wow!)
If I'm interpreting it correctly, "identical" means exactly the same (like don't reupload the exact same image while the past image is still in the gallery). If your reminder image is exactly the same as the auction image, I imagine you can't do it.

As a good rule of thumb, it's best to explicitly put "reminder" text on reminder images anyway; otherwise people may mistake it for the auction itself.

Right, thank you for your opinion, I will do it as you suggest - adding the "reminder" text.

Depending on what you’re selling, the reminders could be collages of multiple sales (if you’re running more than 3 sales concurrently and need to use one reminder for multiple sales), different crops, recolors (if the sketched figures are pink and blue in your original, maybe you decide to make them green and purple), or any other variation you can think of.

Adding text to indicate that it’s a reminder and possibly any other pertinent information (what’s the current high bid? How long is left of the sale?) is a perfectly acceptable, and probably good idea for a variation, but it’s not the only option. :)

Creating a collage reminder is an interesting way! But can I upload three reminders in a form of a collage? For example, every reminder of those 3 would be a collage of 3 auctions, that would be 9 in total.

3 reminder submissions every 8 hours, though any single sale may only be advertised once between those.
