The way state laws work around here is very strict about caught wildlife. Unless certain conditions are met and property owners give , legally the company is required to euthanize animals humanely. To me, that is a bit cruel considering many of these animals were just passing throufh someone's yard and not harming anything.

My gf and I know wildlife rehabilitators and live not too far from a preserve. So, when I am able to, I discretely carry cages back home and we either release them or care for the animals a day or two before handing them of to a licensed rehabilitator. To date we have helped roughly 110 animals.
