One of my friends confessed to me... i turned them down because im well... uh... how do i say this... lesbian and they're now contemplating suicide... i've known they've had deppresion for a long time and it REALLY sucked to crush them like that...

I’m sorry Nunu I feel so out of element right now, I don’t know what to do in this situation either but I’d just try and stay by their side. Try and comfort them? I don’t know much about love, but I’d guess it would hurt a lot hearing what you had to say, but I’m not saying it’s your fault! You can’t change your orientation, so there’s nothing really that can be done about that. In due time, your friend is just going to have to accept it and move on, and i think the best you can do is still show that you want to be there for them

It may be an exaggerated response to a sudden and significant psychological impact. Your friend may have been building up the courage to ask you for a while, and suddenly to them it all became for nothing and realized fears. This obviously isn't good but if so, he may be able to accept it and feel okay enough.

In my opinion, the best thing you can do right now is to just be there for them. You can still offer them love, even if it's not romantic. Compassion and care make a difference in a person's life, and it can be what they need to accept the emotional pains. They may also be worried the rejection will damage or destroy your friendship, and showing that you're still there for them and still care can help as well.

Sounds like an overreaction on their part. The suicide hotline is your best bet. IF that is the case to begin with.

Being rejected from time to time is something people will have to get used to.

I can only recall a spanish video about suicide prevention but punji and others said the main things already.

And ask them directly his feelings and try to comfort him <3

I’m hoping it does to. One should never have to think to resort to that ;-; if it’s serious I hope they truly use the hotline. Only your friend themself can tell how serious their own thoughts are, and I hope they can get through this.
