War

While I think that sometimes war is justified, I'm not soldier material in any sense of the word.

Watch yourself, man.

For some reason it seems highly unlikely that any furry would be in the military.
Never been on the 2K forums, huh? Somehow it's easier to be both things if you're a reactionary neocon to boot.

I join the army in 3 days.

Was wondering if any of you kids are in or are considering joining the military. For some reason it seems highly unlikely that any furry would be in the military. Not sure why though.

Anyways, just wondering. If so, what branch / MOS?

I would but, I am not into being in the military. I respect our soldiers, I just want to take a fucking dagger to our leaders.

Yeah politics are fucked, it's not the warriors people should hate. You want to change something change the leadership.

I've heard from a bunch of friends, who are just getting out, that they are downsizing. It kind of ruined my backup plan for work (finish EMS degree, enlist as a medic, transition to flight medic, then transition out with certificates for critical care and experience).

Wish the best of luck and safety to all who join/or have already joined.

They are down sizing but only people who are already in and who aren't making a mark or meeting their requirements for promotion. Basically they're cutting pre existing members who aren't pulling their weight. Go talk to a recruiter, they'll be more than happy to get you started on the paperwork.

As slick as a bad analogy

Yeah, that was along the lines they said. I just know a lot of their healthcare education doesn't transition over well into the civilian sector.

Any combat medic MOS would transfer over amazingly. Basically any medical position will transfer over. What you have to understand is that a military base is a small city, every job you can possibly imagine is needed to keep it running, so you can literally find anything you want involving that field.

For instance, the MOS's I'm selecting will set me up with a career that pays 100k plus once I complete my term of service, That is if I don't go career of course.

Not every state uses national registry and a lot of universities don't recognize the military's program as equivalent as their own. There are a lot of factors, such as a job requiring a certifications from a selected group of agencies (expensive accredited agencies) that the military may not be part of. A lot of this information comes from my instructors who work in the field. The private sector usually is considered vastly superior than governmental positions.

Not saying the military is a bad route to go, but it usually is a starter position.

For sure, obviously depends on what MOS you select as well. I'm staying as far away from medical shit as physically possible. Computing all day every day lol

Though I do respect our soldiers, look at what happened to the Roman Legions. Lets say for instance that a civil war breaks out and each general is on an opposing side in order to fill a power vacuum. Would you assist your general? I think the majority of our soldiers would be loyal idiots, which is a reason I don't completely like our military.

Depends on what ideology the general supports.
Socialism? Sure
Totalitarianism? Depends on how much power I would gain.

Most generals in the US don't give a rats ass (or are forced to) about politics to make their own fiefdoms.

It was just a generalization. I don't actually think our generals would suddenly have an uncontrollable urge to fill a power vacuum.

Maybe the AirForce (US), maybe nothing.
Depends if I find love.... but I would want to stay on Ft. Sill, next to my home.

I will not kill another.

There are a lot of furries in the military, but it seems that most go into the Navy or the "Chair"-force.
There are a few groups on FA that are dedicated to the different branches.

Anyways, just wondering. If so, what branch / MOS?

I am thinking about it after college. If I did, it would have to be either the Navy or the Coast Guard.
