What am I?

To start off, I have to say I support the furry community. However I don't think I am a furry. I have no desire to be anything but myself, a standard human. However I find any female sexy, human or furry. If a girl wants to live as a furry, that does not bother me. A beautiful women is a beautiful women. So, being new to the community, do you have a term for someone like me? A person that doesn't want to be a furry but thinks furry women are sexy?

Yep. We call those Furries. :)

I've been here less than a week after spending some time questioning things as you do and it occurs to me that Furriness is a spectrum just like most things. And you are on the Furry spectrum, just not at the same end of it as most here. (I feel I'm somewhat in the middle of the spectrum).

I have only been a Furry for a couple of years. And FAF is where I have felt most at home. I hope you enjoy your stay!

Eh. If you identify as a Furry you're a Furry. If you don't identify as a Furry you're not a Furry. It's that simple, really.

Yeah, he sounds pretty Furry, I just think he is reluctant. I was too. For about three whole minutes!
Well not really. I prefer to be human. However if you pushed me I would identify as canine I guess. I do love dogs after all. Dogs or wolves I guess. Just don't misunderstand, I like being a plain human. Canine would be a second choice. I've played plenty of games with furries in them and I always try to remain as human as possible. I have nothing against it, I am just happy the way I am. Everyone should be whatever makes them happy.

Like I implied in the original post, maybe I am unique in liking furries but not totally wanting to be one?
Nope, you're not unique. There are a few who come on here that don't consider themselves Furries, but they sure do spend alot of time with us(killmaimkill)!

I don't really think of myself as a Furry. I have no interest in fursuits, I don't feel as if I have a special connection to any animals, and a lot of what's going on in the fandom isn't something for me.

I simply like some of the artwork. It doesn't define me and it's not something I need to share with anyone in real life.

There's a place for everyone here :)

You're a skeleton.

(More seriously, call yourself what you want. 'Furry' is kind of a flexible label, since it doesn't really have a universal definition. That said, I think there's a certain point where refusing to call oneself a furry, despite directly engaging with the fandom on a regular basis and having a massive overlap with furry-related interests, can only be described as denial. I'm not saying that's necessarily your case.

Also, being a furry is just about liking or having a preference for anthropomorphic animals in art/media/whatever. You don't have to have a desire to be an anthro in order to be a furry.)

Furries are just fans of anthropomorphic animals case and point. If you like them, and want to use the label, then do. Not everyone has fursuits or want to do things like yiff all day.

I think it’s safe to call yourself a furry because you like furry women. It’s also to say you’re not a furry. *shrug*

Unique in not totally wanting to be one? I can see how it might seem like that these days, with all the social media and emphasis on fursonas, but it's still just a hobby for most. I'm pretty sure the majority of original furry fans just liked the idea of anthropomorphic animals. Many drew or otherwise enjoyed the art, and fursuits weren't common. The fans who totally wanted to be a furry were called "lifestylers".

So can I count on you for a resurrection when I burn my body out from all the partying I do? :)

A furry, at its most basic definition, is a fan of anthropomorphic animals. As such, you do not need to want to be an anthropomorphic animal to be a furry. If you're especially fond of said kinds of characters, you are a furry
Ok, I guess that makes me a furry then. I think furry women are sexy.

Sure can! I am the resident necromancer. I often revive furs in the Last Post Wins thread over in games XD

I forward what Lcs said. You're a skeleton. And you know what, even furries have skeletons. Hence you're a furry :y
Joke aside, it doesn't really matter. Furry is a broad term. If you wanna be one, tada you're one.
