What brings you back to FA/FAF

That is one of the most shallow posts I've read here on FAF. Since when is charm the same as a wink? Good lord. Maybe since Fenrari has no personality he doesn't realize most people look for that in a relationship.

You shoulda seen the rest of it. He called out Dragonfurry in the most offensive way possible, said that he wouldn't apologise til Dragonfurry showed up, Dragonfurry showed up, then still refused to apologise, and everyone was getting mad. The end.

Anyways, on with the thread...

So yah, I don't really have much else and haven't had for a long time (I'm getting it all back slowly, so no worries on that part), but once the hard part of my day is over, all I wanna do is just chill. And talk to friends, have a laugh, maybe do stupid things, good or bad. And I have a lot of fun here, I really do. I sometimes really wish I had what I had on FAF IRL instead, but this is all still good enough for me and I wouldn't - couldn't - replace FAF with anything. Though of course I would juggle both IRL and FAF in a heartbeat if I could.

I honestly don't know why I keep coming back here, I rarely ever post and I don't really chat with anyone.

I guess it's just that some of the threads are amusing.

I normally haunt dA forums but I'm burned out so I decided to come here instead. Enjoying the quietness here, to be honest. You people are more emotional, that I will say.

Edit: in the sense that you seem more human, compared to half of dA forum-frequents. (´∀`)/

Edit 2: And then I realize this is for the old haunts. Welp.

We've actually met in person though. You're a nice enough guy, how is it that someone hasn't snagged you?

Oh and Deo, luv. If you wish to believe I have no personality, that your opinion. A lot of people would differ in their description of me. :) And while yes I admit that I'm one of the more negative people out there; my experiences molded me to who I am today. and you of all people should be able to relate to that.

Speak for yourself, dude. I was being a sarcastic, sardonic bitch on the internets waaay before I found FAF.
In fact, I'm probably nicer here than I usually am, because I find this place tolerable.

I don't get on the mainsite much, and when I do, it's usually just to dump art or to check from a small amount of artists I have bookmarked.

I like it on FAF because everyone isn't so ridiculously oversensitive over every god damned thing, unlike so many other places I've been to.
And, while there is a sarcastic attitude, it isn't so much trying way too hard to appear the "badass troll lulz11`1" like it would be in other places. Also, less porn.
FAF is like a nice middle ground.

Threads like this keep me here.

I get to watch honest premise, honest posts, honest intentions get jumped on by people who only do it because of a secure social standing rendering them immutable to the consequences, a position ironically generated by being that way in the first place - the same sort of social culture that supports this sort of thread and renders certain mere opinions as objective facts, that the very idea of debating, even from a devil's advocate point of view, seems to be an offensive crime...

... black pleasure, I suppose.

1- Creep around and have a few lulz because you guys are hilarious
2- Dump my crappy anthro arts
3- Be the biggest art whore I can be, even if I feel dirty for it later on

If a poster consistently demonstrates a near total inability to appreciate the views and circumstances of others, is it really wrong to call it out? I could care less about intentions when the end result ends up being tactless and insulting.

The question, even as Fenrari phrased it in his second post in this thread, was neither tactless or insulting - more investigative and questioning. A hypothetical throwout, or a devil's advocate attempt at a parry to instigate discussion. We've already estabilished Fenrari didn't already know the answer [his third post], and today's XKCD does a good job of illustrating the fallacy of "but everyone knows!".

Thanks, I appreciate the compliment. I actually had a girlfriend for two and a half years, until two weeks ago =/ I told her that I consider myself a furry and she broke up with me. Been all moody since.

It began with "counter-argument - " in response to a fairly personal post. I mean come on, that has all the tact of bull fight. Judging from the response, I'm far from only poster to here to see it as such. There's still also the problem of it being a pattern of behavior. If you do the same thing repeatedly it is more likely to be called out, and rightfully so.

We've already estabilished Fenrari didn't already know the answer [his third post], and today's XKCD does a good job of illustrating the fallacy of "but everyone knows!".

Given the postcounts and dates involved, this certainly raises questions. Questions that are probably too much of derail even for this line of discussion.

You know I'm fairly civil poster by the standards of just about any forum. And you can probably imagine that if I had been the one to reply at first the tone would have been far different. However, I do see a practical utility in discouraging antisocial tendencies by bringing them into focus.

But Deo's reaction was not because he didn't know, it was because of his sheer lack of empathy and tact for a sensitive issue, which frankly, most people with some degree of good (or even basic social skills) in them find disgusting. Now when someone puts a bit of themselves on the table for the sake of nothing but honesty, do you really find it hard to believe that trying to make it an argument is not the way most people would go?

Normally I would agree, but personally I find it difficult to blame anyone for thinking the worst given some of Fenrari's past history on the forums. If he made any sort of apology, or gave any acknowledgement that he could have handled the question better, that would be one thing, but I've never seen him show any sort of regret for any kind of mistake he's made or generally show much of any empathy at all. Therein lies the problem.

As it is, there MAY be some overreaction going on, but I certainly find it difficult to see Fen in a positive or sympathetic light.

I like to think of all of us in one big, giant room. There's a fuckton of little cliques and stuff like that.

Its fun to watch the different personalities combine, dispute, etc. c:

I don't know. It's the only Furry forum that I've become familiar with, I started to post here regularly and it became habit, I guess. I'm familiar with some of the other members here and I've made some friends. I don't really know if I count as a regular, doesn't really matter if I so or don't.

You mean after the picnic? Sorry to hear so. Ah well as I keep having other people tell me; there are more fish in the sea.

And all of the rest of you, stop derailing my threads :/ You can like me or you can hate me, the world will keep turning no matter how you feel. If you're in the say of judging people after reading a few internet posts, you can't really say you know the person now can you? I don't claim to know any of you in any real degree. The few people I can say that about are far and few and I've spent time with them in person.

And after that incident with the ex, I wouldn't be surprised if he had hijacked someone else's account just to attack me too.
