What do you do to keep furry new and interesting to you?

So what do you do? I have been in the fandom since 2002 when I was 12. For the past couple of years furry has gotten "old hat" to me. I have not seen anything new in the way of movies and such. I have not read a good furry fiction in a couple of years. I keep looking but none come up that are around 150,000 words or more. I especially like romance, if anyone knows of any fics in general that meet the word criteria feel free to post links.

Also I kind of like the porn but how many times can you look at similar stuff before it gets old. But for me furry isn't all about the porn, the porn is like a side effect.

Now before anyone says "hang out with your local furs" I have tried. I have invited them to hang out and even a couple said yes but when the day came no one showed up. I am guessing social anxiety stuff and the like. Also I would love to go to a con but financial issues and such.

So anyone have any suggestions?

Find new porn. Or make new porn. Or write new porn. Or code new porn. Or ignore things for a while then come back. To look at porn.

Sometimes I post on forums too. Or chat in IRC. Not about porn. Mostly.

Nothing really, considering my husband is a fur and 97% of my friends are furs. About to move into a furry household, I'm here everyday, I'm on FA everyday. Also I have a different species for every day of the week I paw to. Like Fox Fridays, Lemur Tuesdays, Wolf Sundays, and so on.

Have you tried the Sci-Fi Shielah of Earth, it is 181,000 words! And the comic staring forum members, you could always add your own stuff to it!

Try and see if you can add some furryness into other things you love, for instance i am making a RPG game featuring furries

Did you actually pay money for that story? it has spelling errors and such.

I would recommend kyell gold's aquifers or out of position series

You people and your drama are what keep me coming back. Also I had a goal in mind when I joined. So far so good.

It's not hard at all.

I'm an artist, so I draw a lot. I always draw animals and anthros. So it keeps me busy updating my art accounts with new content. Plus the inspiration from other artists. It keeps you 'in' for life.

If you're looking for furry content to read, I suggest webcomics. You might like one called twokinds, and yes there is romance in it. Also, there's another called slightly damned and another called strays. The best part about webcomics is that they update weekly (usually) so you always have something to look forward to.

Also, just keeping in touch with the online community. The internet is practically the heart of the fandom, anyways.

But that's just me...and even if the fandom becomes 'old hat', it just becomes a minor interest on the side while I temporarily obsess over something else until I find something that hooks me to it again

I'm almost constantly thinking about furries.

I think about my characters, and new characters. I think about how beautiful the females are, and how swaggy the males are. I think of situations once in a while, some spark MAJOR story twists.

All my characters are changing, appearing, becoming more solid, each day.
