What do you do?

OP has my dream job. ;-; I went to school for it briefly, but dumb young me didn't money properly and I had to quit.

Settled for being a CNA (certified nurse aide). It doesn't pay much more than minimum wage because I can't work in a hospital or nursing home due to me not handling high stress situations well, but it was easy enough to get certified and not too expensive. I currently work as a home health aide overnight helping old or disabled folks in their homes. I enjoy it, it gives me that nice 1 on 1 relationship I can easily handle, plus overnights also gives me a lot of free time to not have my introvertness scream at me to get space. A few exceptions though have made me think I can't handle this either. v.v Usually when people get really bad they get moved to nursing homes - unless they were filthy rich and their kids actually care about their well being, then they go from agency to agency trying to find places that can handle their extremely difficult parent(s).

I'm registered as disabled and unfit for work because of my autistic spectrum disorder and mental health problems. I'm receiving benefits. Just enough to live a comfortable life. (This is one of the reasons I preach about welfare; myself and many other people like me couldn't live without a small income for food and housing.)

I would love to have a paid job or even just volunteer work but I'm too sick and fragile to do anything. I have tried to seek employment as I hate being useless but it's impossible. :(

My job is very stressful sometimes. I work in an ER and alot of times people can't afford to treat serious problems. Then there are rich people who pay the ER fee just to have poop washed off their dogs butt. That and sometimes you have to work a 10 hour shift without lunch and barely enough time to go to the bathroom. I do like not having to speak to the public very much and spending most of my time with animals. You do however need to learn not to get attached to individual patients. Also be ok with blood, vomit, poop, anal glands being flung, dripped and smeared on your clothes.

You could always do freelance stuff. The fact that you can type and read is a huge boon in itself and if applied the right way you could be self-employed. No need to seek employment when it comes to you.

Because that's pretty much what I do. I'm an independent contractor, want me to dig up stuff on your competitors, handle your social media, or ghost write, I'm your guy. When things are slow I turn to freelance writing.

That sounds interesting. I'm not sure if I'm skilled enough or could handle any stress that would come with any responsibility. I mean, there are days when I'm so severely depressed that I can't talk or feed myself, so any kind of work would be a stretch.

That said, I have very good days where this would be easy, I'm sure. My level of functioning varies a lot but it be willing to try anything on those good days.
