What If Furries Ever Became Mainstream?

I've been pondering this question in my mind for a while and I think it's a possibility. Imagine furry ads on cable TV and on YouTube before the videos played. Imagine going to the mall and finding a clothing store specifically catering to furries. Furry action figures of our popular furry celebrities and even movies that are intentionally designed for furries that played in theaters(actually good ones).

Imagine if we became idolized instead of being shunned, Invited on talkshows without being mocked, and even have our own corporate empire that significantly impacted the economy without selling sex toys.

And all that commercialization also sounds like a recipe for disaster, what if companies didn't ask permission before making merchandise? It might be appreciated by those who don't think about it like fools but they're your characters, they don't have the right to make toys without your permission.

Haha furry ads already exist mate. Haven't you seen the Orangina commercials? Car Fax? And there's tons of furry media that's mainstream. But for a fursuiter to be treated with respect on talk shows and stuff... not going to happen. It's not a "everyone hates furries" thing, it's just fandoms aren't liked by the majority of people, period. They'd be just as rude to anime cosplayers or Trekkies.

We already see furries in comercials and TONS of movies. Anthropomorphic characters weren't invented by furries.

So you gotta define what you mean by furry. Do you mean anthems? Or rather the furry fandom?

If it's the latter, I don't see the reason why that would be awesome. It doesn't change anything except increase the exposure of our problems as a fandom.

It would be interesting if it did become mainstream, but we would still get a lot of issues with protests and misinformation. It might bring in more future-furs but also bring in more bad seeds who just want to watch us burn.

I like to stay positive, so I am choosing mainstream, just for the future-furs. (=

I feel like anthro being mainstream would be a bad idea because people (normies) would be tired of it once it overstayed its welcome. also the fandom would no long have a feel of brother/sisterhood if it got mainstreamed.
Furry is nothing that new of a fandom since anthropomorphism is an old concept, we just made it popular.
