What is the work you're most proud of and why?

Heya! I'm new around here and I would love to see some of the big wins you guys have to share! So what is your favorite piece you've written? It can be a snippet, a poem, a drabble, whatever. Link to it or quote it, and then tell me why you are proud of it. It doesn't have to be something that got particular attention -- sometimes the most meaningful work to a writer is something others don't notice at all.

In the interest of not making this seem like an excuse to post my own stuff, I won't go first. I wanna see what you all have to share!

I think this piece is my favourite work I've written for FurAffinity: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/36762403/

I always just liked it. I really enjoyed the story and felt like I wrote an interesting but brief drama about a nameless protagonist. I also really enjoyed the use of literary devices in this one. I use more foreshadowing than ever before in a single piece, and the title itself is a very subtle metaphor. I quite like it! It is modest and minor but dear to my heart.

Wow I really enjoyed this piece! There was so much distrust and anger building in the character. The descriptions of the room made me feel so intensely like I was there, staring out that window with them. I think "modest" is selling yourself short. This was a solid piece that made me want to learn more about the character and their situation. Bravo!

Well it's part of my series I write https://www.furaffinity.net/view/34084651/ it's called From the Ashes.

It's complicated to understand unless you have some context to the rest of the stories and goings-on in the series. However, it really establishes where one of my main protagonists got to where they are and why they are there, while still leaving a bit of mystery for the reader. I'm not really posting this because it's the second most popular fic but it's one of my most favorite stories. I liked writing it and I'm proud of it.

I wrote a duel. Some stuff might seem a little weird and there's going to be typos since I just kinda posted it as-is.
I also originally wrote it for Discord then exported it to a txt file, so formatting is lost and I CBA to fix it.

The one I'm currently working on. I like that my work has improved markedly over the years. Practice, and good feedback from my beta readers have really been paying off. Some earlier drafts of the book's stories, and a teaser or two, have been shared here on this forum. In the soon-to-be-published book, those stories have all been revised and polished. So long as some emergency doesn't eat up my money stash, the new book will be published in e-book form by the winter holidays.

(Edit: Decided to drop the revised, most recent draft here. The PDF is the new draft.)
