Coffee is really hard to beat as far as smells that say "good morning". I love the sound the coffeemaker makes, too.

Coffee (either hipster or black they both smell awesome), Chamomile tea, and fresh-off-the-pan bacon.
Just out of curiosity, what sort of schedule are you using? Are you crate training? My pup stays in a crate when I'm not there, and she usually doesn't make a mess unless I don't hear her ring the bell.
