What sports do you guys play?

I used to do karate but I quit that after 4 years because the club was getting to competitive for my liking, mainly focusing on the talented peoples improvement. Besides that I've been horse riding since I was 7 (once a week) and since I have my dog I go running with him once every 2 weeks, tho I should start doing it more often since I'll be doing the Iron Dog with him this summer (kind of obstacle run). Also every once in a while I cruise around a bit on my longboard.

I've picked up discgolf recently. It's quite entertaining and surprisingly technical.

I do archery and target shooting recreationally, and I'm a pretty damn good shot, if I do say so myself (five paintballs in a row from 75 yards with a .22 and me being literally half-blind). I'd love to compete but my school doesn't have an archery or shooting team. I'd also like to do fencing and competitive swimming, but no dice there either. So for now I guess marching band is my sport.

I advise fencing , its fun stabbing people with swords! Not many groups in America I'm guessing ( you live in America right?)
Enough in Wales to have national competitions so I'd say its bigger here than in the US

I don't do any competitive sports, but I try and go to the gym every now and then or go for a run or walk.

I do pole dancing and poi though, I prefer the sorts of "floor" sports that are more about creativity and choreography than winning, and the exercise is a nice bonus =)

The closest I come to playing sports these days is bicycling and (occasionally) sailing. I did a little surfing and Ultimate in college, but nothing organized. When I was a kid, my parents made me play the usual team sports, and I was actually on a few winning teams. Which reminds me, I have a bunch of old trophies and medals to remove from my car. I may just throw them in the dumpster, as I have limited space and they're not really useful to me.

What kind of poi? I'm thinking about getting these:

Mine are the round sort, dunno if there's a word for that. They're LED as well, cycle through all the main colours =) I thought it'd be best to get good before investing in real fire poi. Although my ex began teaching me with his fire ones, which was quite scary.

Are they programmable? I haven't quite decided what to get, but they'll have LEDs. Literally playing with fire would be a bit much for me at this point, lol.

No, mine are just operated with a switch that you turn and it pushes on the batteries enough to connect the circuit, and it will just cycle through. One of them cycles a bit faster than the other though, so they are never in sync for very long.

I've seen a few like that. Apparently, some also have solid color modes cycling through the colors adds to the effect. I wonder if the LEDs themselves can be replaced with different colors? Customizing for different themes etc.

Why do I get the impression that a majority of furries don't play sports and don't like them either?

I kinda had the same feeling.. Thats why I made the thread! But it seems like theres at least a few athletic furries on here

Does anyone do dog agility? It looks so fun. :3

I ride horses - recreationally now (trail riding), but I was on my university's equestrian team and did some local schooling/unrated shows.

Much more into in for recreation - I have thought about doing competitive trail riding at some level just because it looks like it might be fun. And I love that it is a "solo" sport. Even though I sometimes ride with a group on trail, I enjoy it just as much when I am by myself. Just me, and my horse, exploring the trails.
