What to do if artist doesn't respond

Hey there! I participated in a YCH and had a piece done. I sent a note requesting a fix (I can't really consider it my character before that), but I haven't had a response at all. They do seem to be active on their account. Is there a better way to contact them through this site before trying to contact them through PayPal?

How long has it been?
If it's less than a day, wait. Sometimes people get a lot of notes and it can take a while before they can get to yours.
I would wait at least a few days. Then, if they don't respond, send another note just in case it got eaten.
Please never rush to open a PayPal dispute, it is not very nice if they were unable to respond for reasons out of their control.
We all know FA has issues and it is possible that the note did disappear. Or maybe they are working on your edit already and will only reply when it's done.

Also, if you recieved art, you can't get your money back. Even if it's not what you expected, if they have finished art, then they have kept their end of the deal and you can't go to PayPal about it. I know it sucks sometimes (I have a lot of art I commissioned that the artist got wrong) but that's how it is.

Thanks for the reply.

They finished on September 5. I have sent them feedback and followed up on the 5th, 7th, and 11th.

And the art I received can't be considered to really be my character. Is there a way that I can remove the link to my account from their image? If I can't get it fixed, I'd rather it just stayed buried.

All you can do is ask, unfortunately. Believe me I have had the same problem, and I have trouble with confronting / asking people if they finish art for me... so I actually got a friend to ask two different artists to delete the submission. Embarrassing I know.

But keep in mind that even if you ask they aren't required to do it. It sucks. Just be very careful when commissioning artists. I always check out someone's entire gallery before I commission them, and I always make sure they 100% understand my requirements, just to avoid previous incidents.

I even had one person who apparently didn't look at my reference sheet, and just drew a white cat with pink eyes... I didn't even bother messaging them, it was clear they didn't give a damn so I figured that it would be futile to tell them they got it wrong.
