What was your first Instrument?

What was your first instrument? Musical Instruments, Drawing Impliments, Computers, Typewriters, anything that let you make your muse, what was your first one? Do you still own it? What do you use now? What do you want to use? What is your favorite instrument/impliment?

My first instrument, a crappy Yamaha Stratocaster Copy....thing..with a crappier amp...black painted body...bolt-on neck...tuners couldn't hold a tune for 5 minutes....I sold it and the amp for 50 bucks to my friend XD My mom doesn't know So yeah....I don't have my first instrument now...XD

My current instrument is, of coarse, my Gibson Les Paul.

I want to use my custom guitar...but it hasn't been made yet XD

My favorite instrument hasn't been made yet (My custom guitar).

My great-grandma's old upright piano. I took lessons for years, but unfortunately piano's the kind of instrument I kinda stopped improving on.

Grand Piano. My dad's had it for year, and I used to play it quite well. But it started getting boring, and the lessons were getting harder and harder to attend.

A recorder. yes I mean the woodwind.

My mom's piano. I would just sit and play with it when bored until my mom decided to have the school teach me to play an instrument. The only instrument they had left was a flute. I was doing really well with it until I just suddenly lost interest in it and quit. Can't play it anymore.

hey, me too! In the school district I went to, it was REQUIRED every 3rd grader learn to play the recorder. That's also the same reason I learned how to play the ukelele. All 5th graders had to learn how to do that.

Piano. Took lessons for a few years when I was young, hated my teacher, quit. I remember I was trying to learn "The Entertainer" when I quit.

Then violin, that didn't last long at all. XD Less than half a year.

Finally picked up the guitar a little over a year ago. Rawk.

I still have my recorder, a platic white one. In great condition, too. Played it in both the 5th and 7th grades.

First I played on: Some random upright piano...a Tokai.

It had a lovely touch- at least for a 4-year old. It was sold to some family friends when I was 11. Since then I try to stick to grands, but good ones cost more than the apartment I live in, go figure (but I have my eyes set on a Steinway, one of these days...)

*my* first instrument was a French Horn. Yamaha YHR-667 (intermediate-level double, 2nd hand). After the first 4 years of it I never practiced but we remain familiars.

Something similar to this thing (Actually I had an SA-20 with only minor aesthetic differences). 1989!

Oh! How about a demo tune? Recorded with a cheap mic X3

I think recorder is a very awesome instrument If you really get into it.  There's a lot of boroqe pieces for recorder that are pretty sweet.  It's no different from any other instrument, the only reason why they teach it so widely is because you can get them for 5 dollars a pop... they're by no means an easy instrument though.

Don't mind me, im remembering shit from my methods class last semester.

ROFLMAO!  That thing looks ancient.
And YTMND kicks ass!

I personally have been through a lot of instruments.  My first one was this trumpet that's still sitting in my room.  It's a Bundy student model... Bundy never made anything good.

After that i learned tuba, but never really owned one (can you blame me?).  Then I went to trombone where I decided to stop switching instruments.

In the mientime i learned guitar and bass;  and for school so far I've had classes on flute, violin, viola, cello, and all the other brass instruments.  (im a music major, can you tell?)

They are in order, descending, so the first was piano. I received lessons at the age of 6 in my grandmother's house on an old standup piano. Even then I tried to write new music. I should have stuck to being a musician.

Trombone.

Trombone.

Currently my primary instrument for college. I decided on it partially becuase i wanted to stop switching instruments so much, and partially because it seemed like a happy medium between trumpet and tuba.
