What would you do if you won a 50 million dollar lottery?

Buy a bunch of land, build a nice BIG fence around it, build a nice house, obtain good internet and stuff, install a bunker, live in it, and shoot anything and everything that steps within the territory and invest the rest so i can double, triple, or more the payout years down the road. :3

I honestly have no idea what I would do with it. There's so many things I like to think I'd do with it, but then again I'm the kind of person who doesn't like spending money on a lot of things cause I'll just get bored with it in a week anyway.

I'd probably buy a cabin somewhere in Rural Alaska and live simply, but with money.

It won't happen because IMO the lottery is a tax on the stupid and/or desperate so I don't play. But let's assume I did & hit the jackpot for the sake of the hypothetical. I'd donate some to charity, buy a modest home, pay off my debts and the rest I'd invest in a diversified portfolio for my retirement.

I know it's a boring answer but I'm not one for lavish wild expenditures or grand vacations.

I mean there are all the practical things of course; but once I'd sought the necessary financial advice, I'd go to Disneyworld. For a month. Then I'd probably go somewhere really isolated and quiet for a month.

With 50, 000$ I would refund my credit cards 1000$ and 300$.
I would maybe buy a house, well 50, 000$ seem a lot, but a house cost a lot more.
I would buy a new fridge, stove, washing machine and dryer that are for limited space. No not a small one but those like tower.

I freezer, brand new custom made computers, some good quality furniture for the living room and bed rooms. A lot of clothing because i don't really spend money on clothing ^^

Many commission from artist that I like, place maybe like 40, 000$ in the bank to gain money with it. Give food to food banks, good food, not cheap stuff from the dollar stores.

I would commission for a custom made 4 or 5 foot tall anthro plush from maybe a fursuiter who do great job.

I might refund my bro of the money from the heritage that we use, but then again he was never close to us and we don't have contact with him. Maybe my dad will suddenly find interest in us if we have money? but I would push him away since he was never there for us as kids and today we barely see him 5 minutes a month.

Pay off my debts, buy my sister a better car, buy my mate whatever gun he wants, donate a bunch to the local PD to get equipment and body armor.

Why donate money to the PD? Its the government who suppose to do that?

Because I support Law enforcement and my mate is a Deputy Sheriff.
I understand that you support the law enforcer, but I mean its not for the public to do that since they are receiving money from the government for equipment. Police are their to represent the justice, the law of the country, state, city. So its the government job to give them money, to pay for them.

But the police are meant to protect the public, so I think it's a pretty good thing for citizens to give back to them once in a while.

It's not about job or duty, it's about telling the police force that their work is appreciated.

Well then, why not just buy them coffee, donuts, by them lunch?

I can understand that you want to show that you appreciated their work, but I don't know if you can give them money? It kinda look like you bribe them ^^

Well I don't know how it work in the USA, but I never heard of citizen giving money to the police for any reason?

A lot of that relies on taxes, and taxes dont always pass. Also their funds are shared with other government departments. Some departments are running with outdated equipment and the constant training and re certifications drain the funds. Many are working on comp time instead of over time now, my mate has 140 hours maxed out.

1) Pay off the debts of my friends and awesome co-workers at IMVU.
2) Buy back FA.
3) Build a public park and host awesome monthly community events for the people of my home city (doing free cookouts and live music events).
4) Build a new office for my vet -- they're genuinely awesome people who work really hard to care for the animals in their care but have a really bad building + lackluster parking.
5) Start a furry-specific college fund where I'd pick 5 people a year from each of FA's main categories of art, writing, and music and help them cover tuition.
6) Hire all my staff and volunteer moderators full time with competitive packages and full benefits.
7) Buy a really good corn dog.

I like the way you think.

This one is actually pretty easy.

Pay off all my debts and make sure my parents have somewhere nice to retire to, not like the retirement home my grandparents ended up in. Set up uni funds for my daughter and nephew so they could study whatever they liked.

Finish my house off to a high standard, and hire equipment so I could finish off my garden properly. Make sure my house was carbon neutral and finished, solar, rainwater collection, etc.

Build a great greenhouse and milking shed for my goats.

Get one of those retired trams craned into my back garden as a glass blowing/working studio setup for myself.

Aside from that, I would purchase large blocks of land in Australia in environmentally delicate zones and develop a fund to keep them safe for the future, and all who wanted to enjoy them. Probably arrange for the indigenous ranger group to help run them since they do great work. Research, research, research! Tonnes of research funding on plants, animals, and the ecologies of these places for future preservation.
