When was your realization

It took me till just before I signed up here to realize I was a furry. How I came to figure it out is a whole different story in a whole different storybook.

I didn't realise shit, I just liked the general concept and got involved out of interest then made a habit out of it.

I didn't even know being a furry was a thing until I was 15. I liked the stuff since I was 13 though...blame Tailsrulz.

Real answer: I've had the interest in anthro-animals for as long as I can remember.

Joke answer: My friend who's really into spiritualism told me I should meditate in the zoo to find my spirit guide. I slowly came to the realization that sloths are my souls true form. Gotta go slow.

Had thoughts of being something else all my life, as long as i can remember. Only found out other people thought the same whilst at school.

I've always loved anthros, I just happen to associate with this particular fandom to some degree. I never realized I "was" something.

I'd say I was about 15 or so. In reality, I was probably one a long time before that, but that's when I realized there was a word for it.

It's a hobby, not a lifestyle or anything so I didn't realise anything. I decided to join in on this hobby around 2008 or 2009 so around 4 or 5 years.

Always liked anthropomorphous and known about Furries for several years, but I decided to join the whole fandom thing about a month ago.

Always been into it, didn't realize it was a thing till I was 14 and I'm 30 now. So it's been a long time and the things I have seen

Became a furry just a couple months ago, and joined FAF shortly afterwards. I'd always liked anthros, but didn't know what furries were until recently.

I started out liking werewolves as a kid and it just kind of spread out into anthros in general. It's only in the last couple months I realized that this was an entire fandom and that we were called something

Now tell me if you think I'm wrong, but personally I've never seen the fandom as something you 'find out' you're part of. However the first time I realised I liked the fandom to the point that I might as well make an FAF account was around 3rd February-ish. I was hovering over the forums and finding out about the fandom maybe over half a year beforehand, though.

Well ever since I was a little kid I liked animal/people stuff, I loved the show Beast Wars but it was roughly 11 years ago that I was accosted by inappropriate material of the fuzzy variety! :'< Well I haven't been normal since and it's also probably why I love Bunnies so much.

I can relate... I can sadly relate...

I remember seeing furry art on VCL many years ago and thought "this is pretty cool." I never got further than randomly browsing furaffinity until recently though.

In college there was so much other stuff to do that I never had the time nor desire to be part of a mostly-online community. A few weeks ago I read a Kyell Gold book and it piqued my interest again. Now that I have a job and moved into my own place, I have a lot more time to pursue activities I feel like doing.

I hope to go to Anthrocon in a few months and I guess I'll see where it goes from there :)

I have always liked anthropomorphism, animals and anthropomorphic animals, so I never really realised anything; I have liked it since always.
I discovered the fandom about 3 years ago (though I was only a lurker back then), if that counts.

So what you're saying is, you saw furry smut, which messed with your head, and you started to like rabbits because you saw porn of them?
