Would a romance between a Raccoon and a Snake work?

Well I'm not sure how to ask this but you see I'm trying to write a story about my Rocketeer Raccoon story of a young slender raccoon called Rudy who gains a jet-pack to save the world and he also has a girlfriend called Sarah but she is a snake, the naga sort.

The question is would a romance between them actually work? How would they come to first meet each other? How could he make her fall in love with him? What reasons would she like about him? Do girls even go for scrawny guys? But one thing that kind of worries me is that while she will coil around him, could she accidentally crush him to death or can snakes be gentle while coiling? I don't know if for her being a snake would actually be a problem for him?

Sure, why not? Love can find a way when you're writing the narrative. I suppose that if they existed in a world when they were all similar anthropomorphic critters, it would make narrative sense in that context for them to just meet at a party or something. Though maybe they should meet online first? Perhaps in this world, they were just lovers falling together from some very different families, and you wouldn't have to belabor the metaphor to make it serviceable.

Forget that they are manimals and just write their meetup the way you would for two characters normally.
Force usage isn't binary, you can crush an egg, but you don't. Why would a Naga crush a friend?

I had a Burmese a long time ago that I sold before she exceeded 4 foot.

She would wrap around my arm and do this soft cyclic flex of her body without moving, which was her way of showing she was happy. She was an odd one, because she would actually greet people.

if snake is small, raccoon eat snake.
if snake is big, big fight resulting in snake having enough of this shit and slithering away.
that's what tends to happen in nature.
the two creatures are alien to each other, they have no common ground and so they fight.
anthropomorphic creatures however are based mentally on human traits so they'd get along just like any 2 humans would which is somewhat 50:50.

well, are your caracter more human-like behaviour or more animal-like ?
if human-like, well can a chinese and a canadian get along ? of course they can so why would your caracter don't ?
if animal-like, just get assured that they have enough human-like behaviour so the snake will not eat the racoon.
AND even if they are more animal-like as behaviour, does the girl have the necessary anatomy to eat a whole racoon by stretching her mouth anyway ?
Since anthros are fusion of humans and animal anatomy, this also play in the happening.

Well it could work if you punched the snake up the raccoons ass with a fist, acting similar to a dick. But of course you'd have to fix the snakes mouth shut so it couldnt bite the raccoons inner asshole and cause severe internal bleeding. Then theres still the possibility of it slithering up through the intestines and causing even more damage before both the raccoon and snake die.
Isnt nature beautiful.

ah but if they are that close to a snake do they also have their slow sluggish nature that means a much more quickly moving raccoon could beat the living daylights out of them before they get the chance? Snakes are stealth hunters remember. They use surprise attack. They are pretty pathetic in a real fight.

Well Anthros have equal intelligence to Human beings so of course she won't eat him, it's just snuggling up with him in her coils I'm not sure about.

oh. I know that snakes can have a lot of force with their muscles, but not all of them can coil to death so you have to check the specie. Furthermore, if your caracter have a human intelligence, I'm sure she can control her strenght ^^

I had a ball python once, it's not because it's the specie that coil the most that she could not be able to control her strenght. They only use their force when neccessary and since a coil-hug is just a hug, no strenght is needed.
I love ball python since when they feel treathened, they roll up in a ball
Maybe your caracter curl in a ball when upset or other emotions.
I think it would be funny that your racoon say he's sorry and ask her to get out of her ball, but she keep pouting and curling XD
