So there are many different opinions on churches and religion...
Lets discuss them here
But remember that relligion is a presonal choice and noone is right or wrong with it as long as its not taking away someone elses self determination

Also Its about "Churches" the place where you go to do your religious stuff

What's odd is that there's more and more vacant ones, being converted into homes and such, I have some friends who live in what used to be a church, in South Baltimore, and went to a party there, hosted by this couple we know, where some local bands played, people read poetry, got drunk, and did other things...

All I could think was, "Huh, I sure would feel funny having sex here, even not being a religious sort!"

Made for a nice, big open space with a tall ceiling, with some smaller rooms of to the side, and had a lot of nice woodwork.

I use to go to church, but after going to college gave up on belonging to any religion. I don't like legalism and unfortunately it seems most churches won't get away from it. So I refuse to go anymore

Churches where I live have some lovely architecture on the outside, I must confess to having never been inside a church.

I'm not really sure what else to say about them, other than they're pretty cool-looking buildings generally. I'm personally not religious in any sense, but I have a few religious friends and they're cool, religion in general is a pretty cool concept when it comes to stuff like community and stuff.

I somehhow like islamic Churches they look awesome from outisde and inside

Churches are usually very visually pleasing, but I feel that what is practiced in them is generally hurtful to an ignorant population. As well as the fact that huge churches can avoid taxation and make millions from people to just pocket is wrong. Not that everyone does it, but man religion has to be a multimillion dollar business

I looooove the look of gothic style cathedrals and churches. I don't fancy the practice, however.

I am also not a religious Person and somehow i think that churches are so good looking in order to "bait" people

Personally, I am not religious, but I respect religion as having been important for the development of civilization and later history, and as others have said, enjoy the architecture of some churches (I think Westminster Abbey is my favorite of those I have visited).

As for modern religion, I see it still as holding a purpose in providing community for people who are facing loss or are in need support, but do not approve of the exploitative "megachurches" that rip people off to perform "miracles", or those that go out of their way to attack anything they dislike.

If you are talking older cathedrals and Christian churches, the reason would more often be to display to the attendee both the great power of the church and the God they worshiped. Especially in the Middle Ages, the massive open space in the church was meant to inspire awe, as most peasants would never have seen an interior space so large, while the wealth and sculpture on display additionally showing power.

So, less to draw people in, than to leave them in awe of the establishment and reinforce belief in the power of their God.

While not Christian, I love the look of churches where I grew up. They're so humble and calm, just makes for a cozy familiar experience. There would be an old Church on every rural road. Might just be me though, I just associate them with my home town.

I am a Christian, but not super religious by any means.

As for churches, they are very pretty, the older ones that is. The newer ones, bleh.

I pretty much agree with this exactly. I consider myself religious, but I've been burned by people in my church before, so I don't really go anymore. But I think a lot of churches are beautiful. I've never been to one, but I've seen some gorgeous pictures of mosques.

I'm not religious and even if I was I'm not going to pay my way into Heaven or show up and listen to someone who claims to know the 'word of the lord' and know what's best for me and all that.
I believe what you do for yourself and those around you or the planet itself is what matters the most and really instills the proper hope and happiness into you,instead of relying on other worldly beings to judge you and dictate your life.
There is no god telling you to be good or devil encouraging your evils in life.
But architecturally wise and all the paintings,statues,stained glass and stuff I'd say that was the only pleasing part of any church.
Oh,and the mythology is pretty interesting too.
