Zelda Sequel in 2010? + DS 2?

Zelda Sequel Confirmed For 2010

Iwata told the paper that a successor to the DS would require high resolution visuals and sensors for detecting player motions.

Glad about the high resolution visuals, definately, but player motions?? Is this talking about tilt-sensitivity (a la iPhone), or something more advanced?

Speculate. Go.

Oh. And Wii Zelda in 2010.

I really wish game devs would stop trying to stick crappy motion sensors in games. It really isn't that fun except for stuff like Wii sports.

New Zelda! Totally stoked about it :) I have wolf link tattooes on the outside of my left calf just above the ankle and am getting the tri-force on the inside of my left next week. I'm such a geek XD

This, developers need to stop thinking every new system has to be AMAZING AND INNOVATIVE, especially since their AMAZING AND INNOVATIVE sucks dick and is just adding a gimmick on that makes it so you cannot play this in public without looking like a cock.

HELL YEAH!!!
Because flicking a remote looks WAY more awkward in public than holding a heavy ass plastic guitar and pretending to know how to use it, which may I remind you, dozens of people do every day. >: (

Basically the same thing, both types look like massive douchebags.

I still maintain that people who play their DS using the stylus anywhere in public that is not a bus look like giant eight year olds

hey thanks for sharing Impact!
for a sec I thought they were talking about the DSI XL when you said DS 2
hopefully this zelda will be a good one, and not just a rushed title like twilight princess was (that one belonged on the gamecube anyway)

Zelda 2, I am excited about, maybe even enough so that I'm now tempted to get my Wii fixed.

But... DS 2? With motion sensing? Yeeeeeah Nintendo, you and your 'innovative' bullshit are what made me downgrade back to the gamecube and switch over to the Xbox 360. When I play a video game I want to sit in one place and relax and succumb to some mindless fun, not flail my appendages around like a hyper 8 year old. >8/

WAGGLE SURE IS INNOVATIVE.

Fuck, just leave us with a decent handheld... I had to replay a mission on Bully at least 10 times because the Wii mote had trouble recognising me moving it down. DOWN.

What if you turn your head to talk to someone while playing this new DS? "Game over, sorry... Also, all Zelda/Mario/Pokemon games from now on will operate like this!"

Twilight Princess wasn't rushed and was originally a Gamecube only title, but it's development took so long they did some tweaks for the Wii and released it for both systems.

I predict that instead of us waving the DS around like an idiot, it's a motion capture device that detects our movements with it's camera. Like the PS3 eyetoy. But it will probably be limited to us waving a finger around to play minigames, like every other goddamn gimmicky DS game so far.

And THANK GOD they're FINALLY considering high res graphics. I mean, geez, you'd think by now the N64 polygons would be dead and buried 10 years after..

Would love to see a pic of them. lol

Motion sensing handheld? Whew! That's a couple hundred bucks I'll be saving then. I was afraid Nintendo would come up with something awesome for their next one, and not something that extends the trendy, gimmicky fad that just will NOT go away.

Is it just me or does that sound strictly hypothetical?

As long as the game isn't another Ocarina of Time rehash with gimmicky waggle controls, I'll be fine. However, the last Ocarina of Time rehash with gimmicky waggle-controls made lots of money so I doubt my hopes will come to fruition.

You mean Twilight Princess?
It was a solid stand alone to OoT, I think-- the only similarity being that it was 3D and had similar gameplay. But all the Wind Waker ones are similar, just like the older handhelds (Oracle of Ages etc.) are similar to eachother.
And it only had the stupid waggle because they needed SOMETHING to keep actual series fans buying Wiis.

You downgraded from a system that was already backwards-compatible? :|

It's a little more complicated than that, actually. At one point Nintendo actually ditched waggle-based swordplay in favor of traditional button presses, but when people played the E3 demo many of them commented that they wanted waggle-based swordplay. Which is part of the reason they made Link right-handed, because most people inevitably hold the Remote in their right hand (this southpaw included).

Is it just me, or are motion controls awkward and far from precise?

I don't want every game to play like an itouch app. Can't I just control my Marios with the d-pad? I want to actually feel the buttons so my mistakes are really mistakes.
